Happy Turkey Day!

We were able to spend some time in Layton with Patrick's family for Thanksgiving.  We had a great time, as always, with them and are so glad that we live close enough to see them often.  Ellie, Gavin and I drove up Wednesday so we could meet Kati and Griffin at the Ogden Treehouse Museum.  I have been meaning to take the kids here, and it was awesome!  There were so many things to do and see that it would be worth it to spend the day there and take a lunch:)  The kids loved spending time with Grandma, Grandpa, Griffin and Kati.  November 27, 2013
Riding the Choo Choo
They could dress up like a fireman and drive the truck

Checking out the fish with Grandpa Cassity
Ellie dressing up like Pocahontas with Kati
Grandpa Cassity teaching how to milk a cow.  I thought this was pretty fun that the kids could actually milk the cow and see how it works
 Ride 'em cowboy
 Yee Haw!
Gavin, Griffin and Ellie kept going around in circles through this little house.  They thought it was hilarious
As always, Grandpa found a place to nap
Isn't this the coolest way to keep markers!  You never lose the lid!  I need to make one.
We didn't make it to the music room till the end, but it was the coolest room!  They had tons of instruments and you could go around and try them all out.

 Being president for the day
Ellie got to make a turkey craft.  She named it Emma.
These were all standing up when we got to the room...
Afterwards, we needed a cookie break!  I love that both boys have a mouthful of Oreo

Gavin 15 Months

Gavin is 15 months and so stinkin' cute.  He is into everything and loves to explore. A few things from this month...
  • He gave Patrick quite a scare.  I was gone at Time Out For Women and Patrick took Ellie to dance.  When they came out of the church Gavin picked some red berries from a bush and tried a few.  Patrick was amazing though and took a picture of the berries before he called poison control.  They were able to have him send in the picture(how cool is that!).  They said he may get a little upset tummy, but should be fine.  Nov 22.
  • Gavin LOVES toast!  He asks for it almost every morning.  Nov 25

  • Lots of new words including Grandpa and Krista.  He also like to make horsie and choo choo noises.  We will say chugga chugga and he says choo choo or brings a train out of the toys and says choo choo.
Love this boy so much and all the joy he brings to our family.  He definitely keeps us on our toes!

Time Out For Women!

We were able to go spend the weekend in Salt Lake and attend Time Out for Women at the Maverick Center.  My mom, Krista and my friend Jenny Wilson and her mom came and we had a wonderful time.  We met up for dinner at the Olive Garden before going on Friday night.  Then we headed to our motel and back again Saturday.  The theme was Reach Higher!  So we decided to "reach higher."
Hilary Weeks was there-AMAZING!!! with the theme song Born to Fly.
I ordered lunch from Costa Vida the night before and Jenny and I literally ran over to get our stuff before the mob of women got there.  It was so busy!  But the food was yummy and we didn't have to drive anywhere to get it!
We heard so many uplifting speakers and had a great time.  It was a much needed retreat and just what I needed to be uplifted!  Thanks for the fun weekend girls!

An Apple a Day...

Can these kids get any cuter!?!  I know I may be biased, but I seriously doubt they could!

Gavin has taken to grabbing an apple off the table and munching on it.  I have to keep an eye on them so make sure he doesn't just take a bite out of each.  Today, they both munched on an apple and ate pretty much the entire thing.  I thought it was so cute that they wanted to sit by each other, or follow each other around while eating.  I love these two!

Thanksgiving Point Dinosaur Museum

I have been wanting to go the the dinosaur museum since it opened a long time ago, but never had a chance.  Ellie got a coupon from the Summer reading program with the library that made it way cheaper to go.  We packed up one day with the Wilson's and set out on our adventure!
It was so much fun.  They have a tinkering exhibit right now that had a bunch of stuff to explore and see how it works.  The kids really liked this part and we had to drag them away to go see the dinosaurs.  This was a cool thing that blew air, so the kids could put paper or parachutes in and watch them fly up.
There was a cool sand spinning wheel.  It would spin and you could make different designs in it.  I really think I need one of these in my house:)
They had blocks-that Ellie, Jade and Kiera would build...and Gavin would knock over!  I love Ellie's pose here!  They also had a cool sand table that spun around and you could make designs(it looked like a crepe warmer), and a shadow room where you could pose and it would flash and leave your shadow on the wall.  I thought this was super cool!
 Learning about fossils
Gavin looks so tiny here compared to the huge dinosaur
He kept on roaring everywhere we would go.  It was so cute!
 Ellie is so tiny too:)
The kids had fun rearranging this dinosaur.  You could take off the parts and make a new dinosaur.
This room had puzzles on magnets that the girls liked to put together
 And big giant dinosaur footprints
 Cute little family of mine
There was sand table room that had tons of little dinosaurs that the kids could look for in the sand and water.  They LOVED this room....Gavin tried to eat it...
We all piled onto this scale to see if we could reach the weight of a dinosaur.  I think we finally made it with some people from another group.
 Ride 'em cowboy(dino boy?)
I love that Ellie looks so worried about the dinosaur

Seriously huge shark that Ellie and Gavin both really liked!
I love all of Ellie's silly faces!
Gavin kept roaring here too!
At the very end they have a room that you can dig up dinosaurs in the sand.
We could have spend so much more time here, but we were all tired and it was getting late.  After at least a half hour, we dragged them away.

We had such a great time with our friends and are so grateful that we were able to venture up the the dinosaur museum and learn all about them!
